The Buyer reprints my story on Ukrainian winemakers trade wine for weapons.

“I would love to tell you more about Ukrainian winemaking, terroirs, grapes, etc., but after our victory!”

As war rages on in Ukraine, one of London’s leading beverage industry publications, The Buyer, reprints my breaking story in Wine Business Monthly on the war in Ukraine.

My feature focuses on war-torn Ukraine’s courageous winemakers making Molotov cocktails (aka “Bandera Smoothies”) instead of wine to defend their nation from Russian’s invasion.

As The Buyer notes in their opening:

“The only bottling currently underway in Ukrainian wineries is the making of Molotov Cocktails. Work in the vineyards has stopped as winemakers turn their attention to armed resistance to the Russian invasion of their country and delivering humanitarian aid. L.M.Archer hears from some leading winemakers as well as winemaker associations in Ukraine and how some global consortia and retailers are doing their bit for the Ukrainian cause.” READ FULL STORY HERE.

I don’t know if the sword is mightier than the pen, but as a writer, it’s all I’ve got.

I hope you’ll read this, share it, and perhaps help these brave people prevail.

Special thanks to my editor at Wine Business Monthly, Cyril Penn, for his support telling this story, and to The Buyer for reprinting.
