Autumn marks new beginnings. I’m excited to share a few storytelling ventures of my own:

Visual Storytelling

In September, I embark on strengthening my visual storytelling through the University of Washington Photography program, which runs through May 2026. I look forward to telling stories through visual images.

I like the accessibility of photography, which allows those barred from the written word a visual gateway to the world.

Note: Above,  I’ve included an image for you from my introductory portfolio, a view from Ceretto Winery’s Monsordo Bernardina estate in Alba, Italy.

This was my first visit to Piedmont (Piemonte), a region famous for Nebbiolo (which means ‘fog’ in Italian). Although the original visit centered around white truffle season, the region itself proved a major protagonist.

Piemonte’s atmospherics toy with one’s senses – fine layers of early morning fog, burnished by the rising sun, glorious golden hours, dazzling daylight, and brilliant blue sky, underscored by endless green hills and valleys.

In this image, I tried to capture the lush, layered hillsides and vines, veiled by a soft dusk light.

Literary Storytelling

After over twenty years as a business writer, and nearly fourteen as a freelance wine and lifestyle writer, I’m returning to my literary roots.

For years, I’ve enjoyed sharing others’ ‘hero’s journeys,’ including their leaps of faith, allies, villains, battles, and triumphs. I’ll still honor my freelance commitments, but pivot towards amplifying my own voice.

Watch this space for more…including details about pending and published projects.

Tête de Bulle Substack

And, finally – yes, my Substack “Tête de Bulle” continues popping the cork on more unexpected bubblies for bubbleheads…from your bubblehead-in-chief.

This includes more ‘as it happens’ dispatches from the road, and additional scintillating samples to share.

Cheers!🍾
