In this exclusive interview,  I sit down with Philippe Chautard, managing director of Maison Louis Picamelot, a prestige Crémant de Bourgogne producer located in Rully, Bourgogne.

LMA: Tell us a bit about the history of Maison Louis Picamelot?

Philippe Chautard: Located in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, the winery was founded in 1926 by Louis Picamelot, a winegrower and cooper’s son.

He was one of the first inhabitants of Rully to invest in the production of ‘Burgundy Sparkling Wines,’ made according to the ‘Traditional method’.

As Louis’ grandson, I took over the management in 1987.

LMA: What can you divulge about Maison Louis Picamelot’s new partnership with Maison Louis Jadot, announced in January 2026?
