PSA: Method Oregon Grand Tasting

Production:

Method Oregon wines must source from 100% Oregon fruit, produced 100% in Oregon, using 100% traditional method (second fermentation in bottle, removal of lees through disgorgement, carbon dioxide produced solely from second alcoholic fermentation), aged a minimum of 24 months, with at least 4 atmospheres of pressure. Whew.

Sustainability:

Effective 2029, all Method Oregon source fruit must be farmed either organically (using OMRI-approved inputs), or LIVE-certified without synthetic herbicides.

NOTE: (The 2026-2029 transition period allows vineyard managers and owners applicable to adjust to these farming methods, if needed.)

Transparency:

Effective 2029, Method Oregon wine labels must include:

• Method Oregon mark or text
• AVA(s) of origin
• Disgorgement date (season, month, or day)

NOTE: While producers may use the Method Oregon mark before 2029, the 2026-2029 transition period allows wineries time to use up old labels, and create new label designs.
